Biography

Vibraphonist and marimba player Roland Neffe has been performing jazz and a broad
range of improvised music for several years.
As a bandleader he constantly put together new projects including his new trio
“Vibes Beyond” and the quartet “Moodra”.
A further passion of his, and a very different outlet for his musical creativity, is
contemporary music from the European compositional tradition.
He is a percussionist with Berlin’s “Ensemble Mosaik” as well as being a
longstanding member of the Austrian percussion ensemble “Studio Percussion”.
He is teaching Jazz Vibraphone at the Jazzdepartment of “Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg”.

Education
Studied classic percussion and jazz at the „Musikhochschule Graz“ (1987-92).
Studied Jazzvibraphon w/ Bill Molenhof at Conservatory Nürnberg (1992-94)
Studied at Berklee College of Music w/ Gary Burton and Ed Saindon (1994-95) Studied at „ Hochschule der Künste Berlin“ w/ David Friedman (1996-97).
